Aiken, SC - September 22nd, 2007

AIKEN, SC - Furious defense throughout the match, combined with a late game rally, propelled Tres Hijas to a thrilling 11 to 9 victory over New Bridge in the finals of the Triple Crown of Polo Saturday afternoon in Aiken.

Trailing 4-0 after four minutes and then behind by a goal after four chukkers, Tres Hijas came alive with four straight goals in the fifth and sixth chukkers, enough to withstand a late goal and several power plays by New Bridge champion Matias Magrini.

The usually sedate polo crowd charged the edges of their viewing areas, half rooting for Aiken natives Tommy Biddle and his wife Yvette, on Tres Hijas, and just as many for the home team New Bridge. About four thousand spectators came out for the finals and all of them were treated to a late game rally by Tres Hijas to to capture the fantastic Tiffany & Co Triple Crown of Polo Trophy away from the home team in the last moments of the game.

Tres Hijas' Kris Kampsen of Tampa Florida scored five goals, and was declared the tournament's most valuable player. Yvette Biddle was named amateur player of the game and both received awards provided by the Carolina Real Estate Company and presented by Courtney Conger.

Mike Azzaro – the Tres Hijas #3 arrived at the podium with his three children while Tommy and Yvette were joined by daughter Lauren. All the winners arrived in Lexus style, with the players and their families descending from beautiful silver Lexus convertibles. Earlier in the day Tres Hijas' sponsor Andy Stack had arrived from Texas, after business commitments there had prevented him from taking the field for the Triple Crown of Polo. He elected not to play in the finals saying "I didn't want to break the team up now. I am so happy that they are in the finals." Stack joined his players on the winners' podium as the inaugural year of the Triple Crown of Polo Championship Series sponsored by Lexus, drew to a close.

The two-hour show from Aiken will be broadcast on ESPN2 on Sunday October 7 at 3pm and later reach 196 countries in 12 languages through ESPN International.

This week David McLane, Triple Crown of Polo President, announced dates for 2008. The Triple Crown of Polo will return to Aiken and the New Bridge Polo and Country Club as a 20-goal tournament. McLane announced that the tournament will once again kick off with a Launch Party, scheduled for September 17, 2008 and conclude with finals on Sunday October 5 to be televised by ESPN 2 and ESPN International. New Bridge Polo and Country Club will be hosting the tournament again, with three feature games – including the finals - played on the picturesque number one field.

"We have moved the dates slightly to coincide with the Aiken Polo Pony Sale scheduled for October 4, 2008 and will be working with Charlie Herrick, owner of Banks Mill Feeds and organizer of the Sale to cross-promote both events," said McLane. "We believe that both events merit an international audience and hope we can bring more people to Aiken specifically to attend both the Aiken Polo Pony Sale and third leg of the Triple Crown of Polo Championship Series."
