Sarasota Polo Club played host to the first Triple Crown of Polo event Sunday, April 3, 2005. Jack Shelton, Chairman of the USPA and patron for team Touchstone faced Dixon Stroud's Landhope team. The championship match couldn't have been more thrilling as it was decided in the final minutes of the final chucker.
Landhope's two young stars from Argentina, Juan Martinez-Baez and Guillermo Usandizaga led the way for their team's 10-9 victory over Touchstone.
The Most Valuable Player for the game was Dixon Stroud. The Best Playing Pony was awarded to Pumkin owned and ridden by Touchstone's Mike Carney.
