In front of the largest crowd ever at the Sarasota Polo Club Sunday, March 26, 2006, The Cliffs Communities polo team raised the Robert A. Uihlein Jr. Memorial Trophy after a 14-11 victory over Landhope in the finals of the first leg of the Triple Crown of Polo Championship Series. Following the presentation of the Memorial Trophy that honors his father, Robin Uihlein and his wife Brenda stood by as the Cliffs team members were then presented with what LeRoy Neiman claimed as "the most beautiful trophy in all of sport," the Triple Crown of Polo Championship Trophy hand crafted by Tiffany & Co.
The game was taped by ESPN and will air in a one-hour program on ESPN 2 on April 22 at 12 noon EST.
The Cliffs team included MVP Raul Colombres, Santiago Wulff, Michel Dorignac and team patron, Marvin Slosman. |
