Triple Crown of Polo Adds Aiken For 2007

Aiken to host third leg of ESPN televised polo tournament

AIKEN, S.C. - The Triple Crown of Polo (TCP) will add Aiken, S.C. as the third leg in the prestigious three-stop tournament broadcast both domestically and internationally on the ESPN family of networks, officials announced today.

The New Bridge Polo and Country Club was chosen as the third leg of the TCP for 2007 because of its high level of play and the stunning location for the ESPN cameras to film.

"TCP brings active, affluent polo fans to sponsors at the live events and Aiken is a perfect venue to host these fans," said David McLane, TCP Founder and Manager. "Our agreement with ESPN will deliver the polo action from Aiken to fans around the world."

ESPN will be on-site this year to film an encore TCP presentation from the USPA Gold Cup tournament on Sunday, October 1, 2006. Next year’s presentation as an official stop of TCP will put Aiken polo in the company of such prestigious polo venues as Santa Barbara, Calif. and Sarasota, Fla., the other two stops on the 2007 schedule.

"To be linked to the TCP and its worldwide broadcast is a wonderful opportunity for Aiken polo," said Russ McCall, president of the New Bridge Polo and Country Club. "This gives unbelievable exposure to our community and sport."

The TCP series brands polo to create an integrated platform to maximize exposure and corporate support for the sport. ESPN offers action to more than 90 million homes domestically while ESPN International’s 29 networks reaches 192 countries and territories.
